Substack

Substack and AI content

The question marketers ask about Substack, each answered from Substack's own policy rather than someone's summary of it.

Can you stop AI models training on your newsletter?

Partly. Substack has a setting under Settings > Privacy: "Tell AI tools not to train their models on your content." Substack says it only applies to tools that respect the signal, and warns that blocking training may reduce how often you show up in AI-generated results.

What this means for marketers

The setting exists and only works with tools that respect it. Worth considering the trade Substack names: less training exposure, less presence in AI answers.
